“Last weekend there were some very serious allegations made against myself and other band members of Neck Deep,” he reportedly told the Post. “I was horrified and sickened by these accusations. I have now instructed lawyers and contacted the police, in order to clear my name and to be proactive in confronting these allegations. I took the immediate decision to take a break from the band, which was a gut-wrenching decision, as we have all worked so hard to get where we have and I do not want to let any of our fans down. I hope our fans understand.”
Neck Deep shared a statement, shortly after acknowledging the situation, announcing that Roberts would be leaving the band.

Neck Deep released their sophomore album, Life’s Not Out To Get You, this month on Hopeless Records. It has sold over 18,000 copies in the U.S. in the first week.

Neck Deep Guitarist Leaves After Allegations

Neck DeepNeck Deep guitarist, Lloyd Roberts, has left the band after allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor surfaced on Tumblr. Recently a 17-year-old claims that Lloyd asked for nude photographs and sent the girl explicit messages and photos. She claims the events happened two years ago when she was 15 years old.

Other claims have been made against the band but mostly are focused on guitarist Lloyd Roberts and bass player Fil Thorpe-Evans and consist of explicit messages/photos between the girls and themselves. Roberts initially tweeted a response yesterday saying “If any one thinks I’ve done something wrong, please tell the police. I’ll be more than happy to help,” and “My previous statement still stands, until the point I hear otherwise I’m going to carry on with my life. Outside the internet.” but has since deleted his twitter.

We cannot verify the authenticity of these accusations now.

Neck Deep doesn’t expect having to cancel any shows now but we will keep you all updated on the situation when anything arrises.
